Located next to the splendid Templo Expiatorio del Santísimo Sacramento, this art musuem rounds out a rewarding side trip two kilometers west of historical downtown Guadalajara. Also known as MUSA, this former university lecture hall was converted to a museum in the mid-1990’s. It hosts both temporary and permanent exhibits, and mainly focuses on artists born or residing in Guadalajara.
The highlight of the museum is auditorium, featuring two major murals from José Clemente Orozco. It is truly worthy of its own blog post, and for an immersive Google Street Photosphere experience (and video and more information about these two murals), please click here.
GETTING THERE: the Google Map location for this church is here. If you are coming from Zona Minerva, a good way to get here is via the Trolebús; see our blog about Trolebús here.
